Suggestions On Using Dog Backpacks

There are tons of varieties and classes of backpacks available around the world. Outdoor enthusiasts usually buy a backpack for hiking or trips. If you are fond of animals, you can even bring your dog on the hiking trip. Just purchase a dog backpack for your friend and you start your journey. Dogs are the perfect animal companion in the hiking trip. They will protect you from all the different danger that nature can give you.

The idea of a backpack for dogs is not at all a new idea since dogs have been domesticated for a long time. Therefore, people are using their dogs in helping them carry the load when they need it. Though in our time today, dog backpacks are considered a luxury item than an item needed badly. Most of them are used when camping or hiking in the wilderness when a dog is accompanied in the trip. However, you should think different things before you embark on your journey with your beloved dog.

How To Choose Dog backpacks

First is to make sure the backpack your dog is wearing fits him perfectly and properly. You can bring your canine friend to the store and try different backpacks to know what is perfect for him. Make sure it fits him perfectly in order for it to carry loads and not fall of. Also make sure it is comfortable for him since it takes a long time to travel and he might get very annoyed and angry, if it is uncomfortable. You should remember that you shouldn't put too much items especially when your dog is smaller than average since they are not capable of carrying such big loads.

How to Make Use of It

Before you let your dog carry all the things, always examine your dog to check if it is healthy. Healthy dogs have the stamina and strength advantage compared to a sick dog. If your dog is sick, it may collapse on the way and you might get extra load. So make sure you always check your dog before venturing.

At first, your dog might not be comfortable at wearing the backpack since normally, dogs are free animals. They might be used to wearing collars but backpacks are not easy to get used to. They might get annoyed when weighted down with so many items. You should let your dog wear a backpack without any objects in it then let it roam around. Do this for at least once a day or even twice. Your dog may even be fond of wearing their backpacks. You can slowly and gradually increase the weight of the backpack till the dog gets used to it.

Of all the things to consider, the most important thing to consider is the well-being and health of your own dog. You shouldn't over burden it. After considering it all, enjoy nature with your canine friend.

Bellydancing combines Middle Eastern culture, a hip scarf and some major glute work

Try flexing one glute muscle at a time. That's right, each individual butt muscle: Left. Right. Left. Right. Now pick it up: left, right, left, right. And faster still, left-right-left-right. Shimmy. Behold: a fundamental step of belly dancing.

As I learned in a Syracuse studio, belly dancing takes more than vigorously shaking ones' hips in a full, bejeweled skirt with heavily kohl-lined eyes. It takes firing muscles uncommonly fired. As my glutes would attest if they could, local instructor Meaghan Scully's belly dancing classes engage muscles from head to toe. She translates traditional Middle Eastern and North African dance into an exhilarating total body workout.

Considering the last dance class through which I struggled took place in the '90s, my palms sweated before my first class. I am barely coordinated enough to put on pants standing up. But Scully's super helpful, easy-going and fun-loving persona quickly soothed my first-class nerves. By telling me to wear comfortable workout apparel, for example, Scully helped me avoid the embarrassment of showing up squeezed into an age-old Jasmine costume from Halloween of yore.

Misconceptions of belly dancing, like my own, abound in America. They conjure images of colorfully-costumed, heavily-beaded and gold-coin-adorned sensually evocative dancers. In Syracuse, belly dancers emulate styles from American cabaret (the flamboyant, fast and playful belly dancers who dance to Arabic pop with techno beats) to classical Egyptian (the ballet-eque dancers with soft, internal moves in time with traditional Arabic and ancient music). The multitude of belly dance styles, Scully says, stem from roots in reserved cultures of the Middle East.

Scully, publicist of the Syracuse Area Bellydancers' Association, is a fusion dancer, blending elements of modern dance into traditional belly dancing. She honors thousands of years of history, she says, paying homage "to women who've danced this dance before, to women who can't perform this dance any more in the Middle East with the cultural traditions there now."

Scully breaks down the complex, ancient and rich art form for beginners and veteran dancers alike. By teaching basic elements of traditional belly dancing to varied ages, sizes and genders, Scully ensures dancers get down universal basic steps each week.

In my first class, I stood barefoot in yoga pants and a slightly-fitted tank on the wood floor of Scully's home studio with a bottle of water nearby. Scully began by leading a relaxing warm up of flowing poses and stretches, keeping time to music with a subdued beat. Then, Scully schooled our small, intimate classes in the fundamentals of belly dancing.

From the firm foundation of a standing pose that engages dancers' core muscles, Scully led us through a natural progression of moves, demonstrated the form and cued specific body parts. "You work your glutes like crazy," she says, twisting her beaded belly dance hip scarves in a figure eight. I attempt to emulate hip shaking shimmies, oblique-crunching hip twists, and shoulder-elongating snake arms. Properly executed, the organic moves wake up every joint from the toes to the fingertips, from the tailbone to the neck.

Counting in time with Arabic-inspired techno tunes, Scully let the beat build. From slow, steady movements, we take on faster-paced repetitions. By the end of the hour, with another uptick in the music's tempo, I manage to string together sequences of the moves. Sometimes even on the beat.

Scully encourages novices and newbies to take their time, to improve their posture, especially when she sees they're off kilter in the mirror. She challenges returning dancers to build on what they know. Figuring out how to use muscles like obliques, she says, is the hardest part. "It just comes with time, practice and relaxation," she says.

Despite my futile attempts to flex my glutes as fast as the talented instructor, this is a fun version of total body conditioning. Even as the art of shimmying evaded me, I felt the exhilarating power of belly dancing. As Scully explains, belly dancing doesn't discriminate against dancer-caliber, body size or fitness level. A post-class glow seems universal. Even beginning belly dancers find stress relief, confidence, poise and presence.

ON SHAPING

I recently covered several aspects of polishing nails to ensure a high quality professional finish at home. Another trait required for a perfect finish is in shaping the nails. Difficult to accomplish at home and sometimes even overlooked by salons, the creation of a consistent shape across all the nails is a defining factor in clean finished hands, with polish and without.

Perspective:

The most important trick when cutting, filing and shaping your nails requires you to keep an accurate perspective. When turning your palm forward, (or toward your face) and bending your fingers inward to cut and file, perspective shifts and creating consistent shape for all nails becomes difficult. Instead, try placing your hand palm down on a flat surface with finger tips pointing away. This allows you to see the alignment of all the nails and their relationship to one another. Even though it is likely to feel awkward at first, it requires only a bit of practice to perfect this approach.

Shaping Fingernails:

The length of the nail and the nail bed is as individual as each person, and when you start to look a little closer, it can be strikingly different even nail to nail. For example: On my pointer finger I have very little free edge, or white tip, and the tip of my index finger itself (the pink fleshy part) is not visible at all. However, when the length of the free edge on my ring finger is nearly four times that of my index finger, the tip of the ring finger is still visible. This is important because the most frequent mistake that people make when cutting their nails is to assume that all the whites should be the same length. This in fact is not true.

The appearance of perfect nails is created when the nails all fall to the same point on the tip of the finger.

Ideally, just to a length that reaches the tip of each finger. Therefore, try to disregard the white when cutting. Cut and file to create an overall shape and size. The final length of the nail is an individual choice, but nails flush with the tip of the fingers is an appropriate starting goal for most people. Additionally, nails that reach the tip of the fingers are stronger and more resilient, primarily because they are supported and protected by the finger beneath.

Shaping for Toenails:

The above noted method of cutting for the overall shape result should also be applied when cutting toenails. The toenails vary from the fingernails because a toenail will typically be shortened far below the pink fleshy tip of the toe. Yet toenails much like fingernails are rarely in perfect alignment and frequently have a crooked free edge, or white. An excellent shortcut method to shaping the toenails is to do so with the prior nail polish still on. This allows you to follow the overall shape of the nail and reduces the likelihood that you will cut along with a crooked white free edge, or that you simply cut the toenails too short to correct shape. Even though I also prefer very short toenails, some compensation for crooked piggies may require a bit of length here and there. Again, remember to cut with your feet straightforward and placed firmly on the ground. This reveals the angle at which your feet are most often visible and the angle at which your toes bend. Imagine that you are lining your feet up on a starting line (you can even use a horizontal line on a rug or wood floor). Use that line as a guide or an example of a parallel straight line for each toenail regardless of how the nail might bend. Use caution and do not hurt yourself, if your are unsure of how far to cut, or of the practice itself, then try cutting a little at a time.

 Finally:

With just a little practice, these few tips with help you create beautifully shaped fingernails and toenails, a great start to at home care or a brief save in between your manicure, pedicure visits. After cutting, smooth all the free edges with a soft file and then move onto polish. Best luck on your pretty hands and feet.
